Meal Plan - Week of May 27th-June 2nd

Right before we got married, Sam and I set down and wrote out a budget for the year. I really felt like I could easily only spend $50.00 on grocery each week and $25.00 a month for personal hygiene items. So, far it's been easy to do! When I go to walmart, I bring a calculator and add everything up as I go along and I ONLY use cash.(So, that I'm sure to stay in my budget.;) I'm trying to keep the meals healthy and gluten and dairy free. I'm not keeping everything as healthy as I would like, but that's the plan for next week.

This week's meal plan for dinner:
Sunday night -  Turkey sandwiches and chips
Monday night - dinner with friends
Tuesday night - hot dogs, chips, cold slaw, and baked beans
Wednesday night - black beans and rice with Gluten-free cornbread (I made Sam chocolate  pudding with whip cream, I did not have any because of the dairy)
Thursday night - chicken breast, cabbage, and roasted potatoes
Friday night - stir-fry, rice, squash, cabbage, broccoli and baked apples
Saturday night - pesto and salad
Sunday night - tuna, peppers, onions, noodles, and parmesan cheeses.

For Lunch:
I will normally have left overs or almond butter on rice cakes.
For Sam, I pack sandwiches, chips, a apple, peanut butter crackers.
Today I packed him leftovers, black beans and rice, corn bread, a apple, chips and salsa.

For Breakfast:
Last Saturday I made a huge container of granola we have been eating on all week. On the weekend, we have eggs, sausage, grits, and pancakes. yummmm!;)

I was *very* excited that when I left walmart with this weeks groceries, I had only spent $45.00!

An update of life

I'm now Mrs. Samuel  J. Taylor. The wedding went wonderful, without any problems, honeymoon was very special, and life right now is great!

Here's a wedding pictures, because I know everyone wants to see one:

Here's a honeymoon pictures, Sam and I went to Meadow's Of Dan, Virginia. It was BEAUTIFUL!

Our little house is coming together very well. It still needs pictures on the wall, etc.. I'm having a wonderful time setting thing up and organizing everything. I trying to organize our house so that in five years we will still have plenty of room.

Here's a picture of the laundry room, it's not all the way done. There are a couple things I would like to change and I would love to get this to put over the laundry room door. (I put paper in the top shelve and stuck all our boots up there. Together Sam and I have 30 pairs of shoes!!

Today seems like it's been very long. Every morning Sam and I get up at 5:00 to get everything ready for him to get out the door by 6:00. I get up and pack his lunch and fill his water bottles for his long day. When he leaves each day we aren't sure when he will be home. He works all over NC and SC and many times he is out of town all week. The Lord has blessed Sam and I very much, since we've been married he's not had to go out of town any!:) But he has had some very long 16 hour days. All in all, we are very happy with his job and are thankful he has one.

I would write more, but my cornbread just got done! Dinner tonight is black beans and rice with gluten free cornbread. :)

I promise to try and post something again soon. We are yet to have internet in our little house, but I'm really going to try to blog.
