Worship Matters

I just started a book today called Worship Matters by Bob Kauflin. 

So far I have really enjoyed reading it! I wanted to share with you a few quotes that stuck out to me:

1.  Worship isn't just an opportunity to use my (your) musical gifts. It's more then a heightened emotional experience or a way to make a living (worship leader).It's way more then what we do on Sunday morning. Worship is about what we love and what we live for. It's about who we are before God.

2. Worship matters. It matters to God because He is the one ultimately worthy of all worship. It matters to us because worshiping God is the reason for which we were created.

3. We'll never impress God with out musical expertise or sophistication. What impresses God is a broken and contrite heart that recognizes our weakness and puts our faith in the finished work of Christ.

4. God wants us to realize that that point of out practice isn't to receive the praise of others. It's to bring Him glory.

5.The goal of practicing isn't doing something until you get it right. It's doing it until you can't get it wrong.
